Actually, underwhelming would be an overstatement Although might be a better gun at half the price of a comparable Model 12 -- I got no promising inquiries, even at an opening bid of $1,550.

It's a really nice looking NID, bushmaster, but don't take it personal. It's the market working. When there is low demand for a product, there will be little interest. And, just because we want to sell a nice product does not mean there should be interest in it. It also doesn't mean the product is not nice. You are just trying to sell it at an inopportune time, IMO.

Wanted to clear out several guns from the safe and quickly sold 3 of the 4 at a price that was reasonable to me and the various buyers.
The NID was by far the nicest of the guns I put up for sale.
It really is a buyer's market for doubles

I really like it, Bushmaster. Just not in a position to do anything for a while.

Everyone should note that I did not post here to drum up a buyer.
I thought it would be of interest for the Forum to know my experience in trying to sell the NID.

NIDs are very much under appreciated and bring far less than a Parker, Smith or Fox will given the same condition. In fact a beater Parker will bring more than a very nice NID. It is a shame as the NIDs have a lot going for them. Modern double, made with good materials, shoot-able dimensions and a very reliable design.
You'll get your price I suspect but it will take time. I bought a like new Smith the other day that looks to be unfired. It had been for sale for more than a year I understood from the seller. It was not cheap but I don't know that I've seen more than a couple "unfired" new which had not been redone. Basic field grade gun sales are very soft right now and I don't think they are going to get stronger any time soon.

For the buyer looking for a 12 gauge shooting iron you are absolutely correct

About 2 years ago,I sold a very nice NID that had factory up- graded wood . At the time, like yours, there was virtually no interest in it. I finally sold it for $550.00. As already mentioned, it's a combination of a very soft market and the fact that these NIDs are under-appreciated.

This forum is not the best place to sell a nice gun. As someone else once said, "We're all experts here." That being the case, we look for bargains. Your NID is worth what you asked, but is likely not a bargain. If we all want to own'em all, we gotta keep the prices in line...Geo
