Took my sabatti sxs 9.3x74r and o/u 470 NE to the range. Used the factory hornady ammo for both guns. Setup some 'reactive' targets at 50m. ( WalMart .84 cent / 1$ 2L and 3L sodas ). Shot the 9.3 first, first shots I'll call fouling shots wink shot 3 more sets, all hits, just had to figure out where those express sights wanted to line up.

Next switched to the 470ne. Same express sights, so I tried same aim from the other gun, was good to go from first shot on.

Was a hair apprehensive on the 470, so slipped a magnum hard foam shoulder pad over my light shooting vest. It turned out fine, another poster in another thread was giving me son shooting tips, can't recall his name, but I took them, they worked, and thanks.

Any chance you will use these guns on some wild Florida hogs? I would love to see pictures of the same...

The 9.3 maybe / likely. The 470NE? I'd have to be going out for hogzilla wink

Now.. If I got in a bear hunt, yes, definitely the 470NE.

Sounds like you had a good time. The 470 gives you the super cool option of a head on shot for pig. Shoot one in the chest and watch it come out the back. It will flatten a pig and put a smile on your face. Or line up a couple and take out 4 shoulders. That's a lot of fun. Don't hesitate to get the 470 out in the field. That's what it's for.

Absolutely! We have way too many hog here in Florida. Took my last one with a bolt action 30-06.

I agree on the 470 & taking a hog from a normally bad angle. The cartridge will take up the slack. I'm sure the 9.3 would perform fine on hog as well.
