Chukarman:

Ever time you show a photo of that gun I get a bad case of envy. It is truly a beautiful Fox.

A lot of guys have custom built Fox guns on this board. We should do a separate thread on all of them.

Thanks, Rem. Killed a lot of game with that gun.

Just ordered McIntosh's book-thanks.

Thanks. The Fox pictured has 28" Krupp barrels choked SK1 and SK2 (light mod), weighs 5/15 and was built as a straight grip gun from the factory in 1915.

My two-part article on the evolution of the Sterlingworth appeared in The Double Gun Journal, Volume Fifteen, Issues 3 & 4. Frank Srebro did specific articles on the Savage-era variations the "Fox-Sterlingworth Wildfowl" (Volume Twenty-Six, Issue 4) and on the "Drawbolt" versions (Volume Twenty-five, Issue 4). We still need specific articles on the Savage-era variations the "Fox-Sterlingworth Skeet & Upland Game Guns" and the Fox-Sterlingworths built on the flat-sided SP-Grade frames.

Thanks for the kind words King~~~
The story about my custom Sterlingworth continues to impact the double gun culture in ways I could never have imagined. At the ACGG area at the Dallas Safari Club show I had three more craftsmen show me their custom guns and tell me of the influence my published project had on them. Honestly, it humbles me~~~ I was lucky to be in that time and space with Michael and client and friend Jim Flack. They are in another dimension now, discussing the virtues of Fox guns...

I wish all you folks who want "High Grade" guns would buy High Grade guns & leave the "Field" grades alone for us Po Boys. I don't care which brand it is.

Attached is the AbbyGun in the white built by Dan Rossiter using your book as a guide. All metal work done by Dan. He knows how to run a file as they say.

Its that perfectly proportioned, beautifully sculpted Fox frame that drives people nutso to customize them. Can't blame them.

We should do a thread on all the customized Fox guns people have here.
