Are there any stateside sources for 2" 12 bore shotgun shells besides RST? - They always seem to be out of stock.

I have a flat of Lyalvale in my shell larder

Well I have some Lyalvale 2" Special Game ammo and I would NOT shoot it in a 2" gun. I have shot it in a light 2 1/2" French gun and it kicked the snot out of me, now I just shoot them in HEAVY 2 3/4 inch guns. They have 15/16 ounce of shot!!

The Aguila at 5/8 ounce and VELOCITY of 1175 FPS should do just fine smile

I may be mistaken and probably a dumb question. But are the Aguila shells made for sporting and hunting? I assumed they were made for law enforcement to get as many shells as poosible in there pump guns?

Did you read the Aguila ad?

Aguila MiniShell 12 Ga., #7.5 Lead Shot, 1-3/4″, 5/8 Oz.

The perfect option for anyone new to competition clay shooting, Aguila’s mini-shotshell offers less recoil and a quiet report.

SHOT SIZE: 7 1/2

LENGTH(Inches): 1 3/4

LOAD: Ounces: 5/8, Grams:18

VELOCITY(ft/sec): 1175
Box: 20

I have a few boxes of Gamebore 2" roll-crimped shells with 11/16 oz. of #7 shot. I've never used them in 2" chambered guns, just light 12-bore Damascus guns; and thoroughly enjoyed shooting these things. For me they performed wonderfully on small game up to cottontail rabbit size; and best of all, were a delight to carry on all-day hunts.

I haven't been able to find the pressure for the Aquilla shell. Does anyone know the pressure?

I was surprised RST is out of 2" shells. Hopefully, they'll make some up soon.

I just cut down 2 3/4 shells and use fiber wads from circlefly. A roll crimper is around $30 fro precision reloading and can do everything else on a Mec Jr.

I'm with Skeettx on the recoil of Lyalvale 2" shells -- terrible. The modern Eley 2" shells are even worse -- you simply have to experience the pain of shooting them in a light 2" gun to believe it. I found them painful in my 7-lb 4-oz Beretta 686, much less my two-incher. No wonder 2" guns are out of favor in Britain.

RST has been a godsend for American shooters. They will 'print' some more, I suspect in time for the Southern.

The Aguila Minishells sound interesting. Phil Bourjaily informs me they are very soft shooting but dirty. I have an inquiry in to Aguila's media contact re pressures and technical data and will report back if I receive an answer. I'd like to hear about any experiences with Minishells in 2-inch guns.

I have about 30 boxes, mostly RST. I would part with them, but a really nice Arrieta round body 2" gun would have to go with them.
If interested in a package deal let me know.
