Shooting Sportsman has the Gun Guide 2018. Dickinson is listing the Plantation SXR Trap. It comes with thin wall choke tubes, charcoal color case hardening, hand engraving, and Grade 3 Turkish walnut stock with palm swells, beavertail forends, oil finishes, and 24 lpi hand checkering. I would presume these are Turkish, but I keep reading about how the quality has improved. Side bys for trap shooting are hard to find unless one wants to buy old Parkers, Model 21s, etc. Any ideas?

My Dickinson is high quality. I have absolutely no buyer's regret, after several years and bird seasons. Yes, they're Turkish, but not all Turkish guns are of equal quality. These and the SKBs are made by the firm AKUS. They've got their act together, IMO.

I've friends recently posted to Turkey who have bought Turkish guns, Huglu and others...Huglu (pronounced "Hulu"). Huglu town is the world center for SxS gun building today. My friends rave about their (rather high-end) guns.
