Last year I was at LCS and checked out an Uggi. The gun felt like a magic wand when I shouldered it unfortunately the stock dimensions didn't fit me. So now I'm thinking about finding a similar 20 Gage gun that actually fits me and Is under $3000. I'm not in hurry and I want the best 20 Gage gun for the money. I lean towards double triggers but SSTs would be OK. I would like 28" barrels. I would prefer choke tubes but I can live with fixed chokes. I've internet checked out uggis(grade 3) dickensons, f.a.i.r. rizzinis. Looking for suggestions and options on new guns or light fast pointing older ones.

Gauge? Barrel length preference?
Lots of choices under $3K, especially used.

three of the newest cz turkish made guns, in various gauges and configurations, might work for you and your budget... http://cz-usa.com/product-category/shotguns/side-by-side/

In that case, look for a CSMC RBL Launch Edition; Beretta 425 or GR2, or Charles Daly version of the GR2; Miroku 500 or Chas Daly 500; or a Dickinson. In a single trigger gun, it's hard to beat a BSS Sporter or a Japanese SKB. You might even find an SKB with DT. If you get lucky, you could find a Parker or Fox under $3K, maybe an AyA 4/53. If you need to shoot non-tox, stick with the newer guns, or plan to shoot light loads with open chokes.

I agree with Replacement. The Browning 20ga boxlock is a great shotgun. Some people really like the SKB's, I never did.
If you hunt the thick stuff, the finish on the Browning/Miroku will last for years.
Out there doing it best I can.

All those would be used except for the Dickinson. There may be some unfired RBLs available, but price on unfired would be above $3K. There is a remote possibility of finding a used Parker Repro or Win 23, but that would be a tough search under $3K. My top three would be the RBL or the BSS or the Miroku/Daly 500, all three of which I own in 20ga. Don't have a Dickinson but some guys on here like them a lot, available new.

You might even find an SKB with DT. Neither Ithaca nor SKB operating under its own name ever imported any DT guns. There were some made for the European market, but they're about as rare as hen's teeth in this country. I do second the opinion that they're very good guns for the money on the used market. The current Turkish-made SKB's are pretty nice guns, but they're all single trigger.

Neither Ithaca nor SKB operating under its own name ever imported any DT guns. True. But as far as I know, Miroku never imported any DT 500s under their own name, despite the fact that I have one, bought here from a member on this board. There are more than a few Japanese guns here that were never officially imported. Worth searching out if that is what you want. Easier to find a Daly 500 with DT, though.
