Hi there.

Question. I purchased recently a Sabatti Saba side x side for a really good price. The gun has a pistol grip stock. I was considering getting it converted to an English straight grip by a gunsmith, but noticed that Numrich has an English grip stock for the Kassnar Empire side by side that was built by Sabatti. The exploded parts diagram does not show a long tang trigger guard, nor do they have one. The picture of the stock doesnt really tell me either, so Ill call them tomorrow.

The question, is it conceivable that the stock will work (maybe requiring a bit of fitting), with the receiver? Sabatti only had the one model of S x S at that time and I cant really see them making a completely different action for the Kassnar empire.

Can anyone chime in, or better yet provide a picture of the empire if they have one? Ive looked on the net with no luck.

Thanks much.

Pietro

I do not know.

BUT

For $100 might be worth a try

How is your current trigger guard attached to the shotgun?
Looks like this one attaches only to the metal.

Before I were to spend much money on a Sabatti I owned, I'd want to make sure that it's both reliable and shoots where it's supposed to. They're down near the bottom of the quality pool when it comes to Italian shotguns. And Kassnar as an importer doesn't have a very good reputation either. I had what looked to be a nice little Italian OU imported by Kassnar. Picked it up for a nice price. Turned out not to be a bargain.

Thanks Mr. Brown.

I'll take that into consideration. I've owned Sabatti rifles and shotguns before and have never had an issue with them. I've never had a problem with contacting the manufacturer for help seeing that we both speak the same mother language. Mine is not a Kassnar import but a Sabatti. I figured the stock at sub $100 might work. To order one from Sabatti in Italy is five times as much and getting a gunsmith to alter mine is probably around the same price.

I understand that sabatti had some regulation issues a while back, but recent years reports have been good. Last year I picked up a sxs in 9.3x74r and it regulates near perfect with factory hornady ammo. I was so impressed that when I found an ou in 470ne for sale, also sabatti, I went for it. Both are great guns and regulate fine with factory ammo.
