A friend of mine is going into the hospital for a cardiac procedure and has expressed concerns about its success. He's tasked me with helping his wife dispose of a lifetime's worth of hunting trophies from Africa, Alaska, Asia and the US if things do not go well.
I'm comfortable in my ability to sell his firearms for his wife (they have no children or nieces and nephews who shoot or hunt), but I'm at a complete loss as to how to sell the trophies. They include cape buffalo, numerous African antelope, a walrus, a polar bear, and a bunch of the more common ones, down to a prairie dog.
So, how would I go about disposing of these if the worst happens?
Thanks.

Those sell pretty well at auction. I'd try the standard US gun auctions: Rock Island, Morphy, Amoskeag, &c.

Do you need special documentation for the walrus and the polar bear? You may. I don't know the rules.

Not a clue. I had not even thought of that. I guess I’d have to check with the feds.

At the very least, you may need paper work documenting that it meets some grandfather clause or some other criteria. No anyone opening a safari themed bar or restaurant? A restaurant designer/decorator might be someone to track down. I hope your friend does well and makes all of this a moot point.

67galaxie who posts here recently opened a new steakhouse and wanted to decorate it in an outdoor/hunting theme. He put out the word and was flooded by donations from wives wanting to make their husband's "dead animal room" disappear. He even got a few of mine...Geo

There aren't that many people that understand decorating their homes with dead animals.
I'd try ebay Pretty sure the decorating set scour it for elements.
Out there doing it best I can.

I've seen trophy mounts for sale on the Guns International section for them. Karl

I would not try Ebay. Do you really want to handle the packing and shipping yourself. John

If you want to package and sell as a lot, Bass Pro is always using those for new stores.
