Hello to the Board. I'm having trouble on the trap field with my Remington FE grade 12-ga trap double that I only acquired a few months ago. I'm getting too many "no fire" light firing pin falls (both barrels). I've also noticed that the forearm doesn't click in "with authority" - the way I would expect it to (it never has). I would like to find a competent gunsmith who is familiar with the 1894/1900 Remington doubles and who can disassemble, clean and function test this one for me. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance

Welcome on your first post Tom. The closest double shotgun gunsmith in the Pittsburgh area, with a good reputation, would be Jerry Andrews in Moundsville, West Virginia.

I have bought a couple Syracuse Lefever doubles from him, but never had any repair work done by him. But a quick Google search will give you a lot of positive reviews, and I've never heard a negative comment about his work. His contact info is:

Jerry Andrews 1225 Grandview Road Moundsville, West Virginia 26041 304-843-1740.

You might try Bachelder in Michigan - 1-616-459-3636. He's worked on a number of mine.

I've used Classic Gunstocks. Dan May and Ken Waite came from Turnbull Restorations. They did well by me. Looks like a 5-6 hr drive from Pittsburg.
