Benelli 828U, flash in the pan or is what lies ahead? I see that this gun is now being offered in a sporting model which is about a pound heavier than the original gun. The gun has a number of innovations which shooters may be skeptical about. I would like to try one but I have yet to see one at my club.

Guy at the club showed up with a 30" Sporter last week......just not feeling it. I can't help but think of the old Remington 90T trap gun every time I look at one.

One of my buddies bought one the minute it appeared on the cover of The American Rifleman, but still see him shooting his BT-99.

I say flash in the pan. Those looks may be the future, but I think it's the distant future.
Add two inches to the barrels and 1 - 1 1/2 lbs to the weight and I might try one on clays.......... if it's a demo. As is? ............ my money? ............ nah.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

Friend of mine bought his son one...cut his hand pretty bad closing it once...pinched him a few more times....numerous firing malfuctions.
Piece of space age looking crap.

The monocoque redeiver that allows stock regulation with shims is the biggest innovation. Others (Ljutic, Kolar, Ermas Ego) had used the monocoque receiver but with no shims.
The Kral Volt has a monocoque receiver but no provision for shims.

Seen a guy shoot a sporting version today. carbon fibre action (?)...some sort of firing pin thingy...all I could think of was...why? A bit of trying to reinvent the wheel going on. Probably be worth a bit of $ in a few decades, as it's quite innovative...and yet all unnecessary...but what do i know. He shot it pretty well btw.

Life is too short to have a 'hate on' for so many things or people. Isn't it?

Ive handled and shot two of these guns in the last year. I suppose it you walked 10 miles to down one bird you would appreciate the very light weight. But, the recoil from a factory 3 dram loosens teeth. I find myself turned off by the modernist design. To me this is an even more garish replacement for the Cynergy. Im not sure if a marketing study was completed before they went into production, but I cant imagine that people in the age group who can afford its price would find the gun attractive. Perhaps Europeans see it differently, but style such as this should remain in the auto industry. So, I vote flash in the pan.
