Billy, what sort of reading comprehension is this? He didn't say that this Winchester Model 1895 Hoffman custom rifle was any less elaborate than the bolt action Hoffman rifles:
The other day I saw a Hoffman Arms built rifle based on a Winchester 95 lever action. Fancy wood, checkering, quarter rib, banded front sight, all typical Hoffman style.
It sounds more like someone who had the money got Hoffman to build a nice rifle using the action of their choice. Too bad we don't get to see a picture of it.
