Ted, If people are leaving you "stuff" it is because they have a high regard for you, and would rather you have it, than anyone else. Mike Yes, I get that. I did joke with a good friend over dinner recently, where I was left with his grandfather’s A5, if he wanted to have any input on where I left it, noting he would in all likelihood still be around when that happened. He said that was up to me, and to try to do as good a job as his Grandfather did by choosing me as current custodian. I am blessed with great friends. Best, Ted

Ted, It is my opinion that no greater compliment can be paid than for a dear friend to assign a gun's custodianship to you. Karl

The biggest problem with free guns is the guilt trip that comes with them...Geo

Ted: You are a great human being and role model. I wish I had the chance to meet you in person. Gil

Not guilt, just incredible sadness, to a one, these guys were hunting partners that knew my Dad, who has been gone 21 seasons, and all my dogs. What I would do for one more hunt or campfire, with any of them. Best, Ted

It is the hardest thing I have done in a long time not to ask for the list of possible guns to consider to buy

Old Colonel, don't feel guilty about asking for the "list". I asked for the "list". The gun I wanted was not on the "list". I inquired about the gun I was interested in. It was not available. None of this was hard for me and I feel no guilt. Proceed without guilt, but with caution. There are great guns on the "list".

I am sad that another is reaching the end in too many ways. But it is nice that he still has control of which guns are sold and for how much. I have seen too many times, where guns were left behind to people who had no clue what they are, what they are worth or how to sell them for more than a fraction of their true value.
If the owner wants to give them away to friends and family or sell them for fraction of the true value that’s fine. I do not like when “friends” come after the funeral and claim guns were intended to be a gift to them or make a big show of paying ten cents on the dollar and telling everyone what a great guy they are. Nobody here is trying to do that at all.
