The DR-16's can be hard to locate at times. I bought 5,000 not all that long ago, but have been doing a lot of target shooting with 16's. I've never loaded 3/4, but they're great for 7/8 (no filler needed) using the Cheddite hulls from the old 1 oz Herters shells that Cabela's used to offer. They reload well, but case life isn't very good.

With hunting season upon us, I won't be shooting targets nearly as much . . . but I should probably start looking for more of those wads.

Hi Gil,
I load Cheddite hulls cut to 2 1/2” with the BP SG-16 wads and 7/8 oz shot. Stack height gives good crimps.

Milt, I see Recob's Target Shop has the 7/8 oz Claybuster wads in stock. These are my go-to for 7/8 oz loads in Remington hulls.

https://recobstargetshop.com/product/cb-0078-16-16ga-7-8-oz-pink-wads/

The DR-16 is a better fit for Cheddite/Federal/Fiocchi hulls and a little more adaptable for 3/4 oz loads, but my favorite for range shooting is the Claybuster CB0078-16 in a Remington hull.

15 grains of either Green Dot or International Clays will produce 1170-1180 fps with this combo with either Win or Remington primers.

One can also obtain a 1/2" arch punch and make shot cup filler wads from egg cartons or whatever.
