I have a 1948 Merkel 200E. The screw that holds the sling together on the barrel fell off in the field. Where would I find a replacement? Picture is of the sling hardware and what the screw looks like on the buttstock.

NECG - New England Custom Gun should have it and I would say some of the aftermarket kits may just fit it?

Raimey, thanks for the referral to NECG. Yes, I do own a couple of French Brits. Here is Scout on the fateful day of the missing screw. Getting a hun was a great treat so I think we both came out ahead. :-)
