Can someone decipher these proof marks for me? Where was it proofed, approximately when, and does anyone recognize the initials "C.W. C"?

Welcome to the board sir: From Diggory Hadoke's site: Birmingham proof...1855-1875 (can't make out the swirly bits). The 11 is the bore (11 gauge). (a bore stamp was required after 1855 - before that only a few makers were stamping their bore sizes - Manton, Reilly and Greener being the historically noted ones).

It looks more like "C.W. & C" to me... Can't do more...so unleash the Birmingham sleuths.

Birmingham Proofed as an 11 bore.

S L could well be barrel makers mark.

There seems to be a stamp on the upper (in picture) barrel close to the edge of the rib, can you get clearer detail?

Is there a maker's or retailer's name on the top rib or lock plates?

No top rib left on this old gun. "JONES" is crudely stamped on one of the side plates. I'll look again at the gun when my friend brings it back over.
Thanks for your thoughts.
