A young fellow asked if I knew of any reloading data for the Activ 20 gauge hull.

I understand there is data in the Lyman’s #4 manual.

If anyone has access to a Lyman’s #4, or the old Activ reloading handbook, please p.m. me.

Or post a recipe here.
Activ wads seem rare, so no reason to list those.

Thanks

I think I have the some of the active reloading data from active and maybe ballistics products. I think the wads are similar to to the giuliani wad that ballistics sold. What side load are you looking to shoot.
I have loaded some for bismuth myself and probably lead at one time too.

He said 20ga, practice loads.

Activ s have huge volume.
I have some. I too am curious about what wad to use for less than 1oz 20 ga loads.

Active from Ballistic Products Active hand loads

2/3/4 7/8 oz Target Win 209 Primer Solo 1250 Powder 17.8 grains GBP wad SG 20S Short Press 8800 Velocity 1150

I have some of the powder yet I think I used some Unique in diff hull. Perhaps give Ballistics products a call for load data they are usually helpful for their components

The old old old ACTIVE 20 gauge hulls, the gold hulls or yellow hulls, are terrible hulls for reloading....... In the late 1980s I fooled around reloading some of them with skeet loads and there were all kinds of problems....... Primarily the case mouth would melt and get stuck in the forcing cone..... My advice is to throw those old ACTIVE hulls in the trash...... posted by Jent.
