The above catalogue which I have been unable to find on the internet, has one lot of interest to me. It is a ledger book for S Wright & Co of Birmingham. If someone has this catalogue would they mind letting me know the description of this lot. This would include dates covered, serial number range if any and how many pages. If there is a photo of the lot that would be even better. Many thanks.
Regards
Alan

Alan,
Holt's archive catalog search only goes back to Dec 2006. Good luck finding someone with the catalog.

Yes that's the one. I did see it on ABE books but near enough $100 Aust by the time I get it.
Hopefully, a forum member will have a copy at the back of a cupboard!

Alan, "ivanhoe" in UK from this board, has some 2,000 catalogs from 1972 on. He has done some research on Reilly's and pin-fires for us. He may have the catalog.

Alan, check your e-mail inbox. I have photographed the relevant page and sent it to you. It sold for £300. Hope you can read it o.k. If not let me know and I'll try again. Lagopus.....

Thank you very muck Lagopus. Just what I was looking for.
While it would seem that these ledgers and day books which number 8 in total, are now in private hands, one hopes that at some point they will end end up in an archive where researchers will have access to them. The Royal Armouries have the ledgers for GE Lewis, Sterling Armament Co and so on. While a number of provincial or county archives in the UK have ledgers and day books for the some of the smaller makers and retailers.

I agree. The Royal Armouries were most helpful to me on researching a 24 bore Lewis that I own. I would doubt if Holts would divulge the details of the purchaser. Lagopus.....
