If the for-end roller release is a 7/8" round metal disc with a screw on each side which was used only in 1901, after that the escutcheon was banjo shaped. There were only 2 styles of ejectors, the first style used the
lockplate mainspring, lifter and cocking rods to eject the empty shells. The second style ejectors used springs in the for-end that were tripped by the cocking rods. The second style will have a patent date of May 28, 1901 on the for-end metal and used on all ejector guns from then on.
