Anybody have one? What kind of a SXS are they? Are they worth having? Any opinions welcome.

I did a custom on a 28 gauge for a client ,the gun is solid and well built ,and the bbls are beautifully struck ,I personally wouldn't hesitate to choose it

I really like the way they look with the round action. Very sleek. I would have bought one years ago if DT's had been a standard offering.
If you are good with a single trigger on a sxs, I'd say go for it.

A friend has one in 12 gauge. Nicely finished gun and the trigger has an additional safety feature whereby the gun cannot be fired upside down. I guess this is to prevent an AD if the gun is dropped. Seems like a thoughtful feature but to me it’s something else to go wrong.

I considered buying one about 10 years ago when they first introduced them. Beretta said that they would be offered DT or ST, but I've never even seen a picture of a 486 with DT. I wasn't interested in a ST and never bought one.

My understanding is that most of the gun is made by Fausti, though I've read conflicting info on exactly how much. Good luck with it if you get one, and please give us a report on it. I've seen very little posted about them on this board.

A fellow at my gun club owns one and I've shot it several times. Seems to be a respectable gun, nothing earth shattering but certainly nothing wrong with it.

The action is made by Fausti and the barrels and stock by Beretta.

These are robust well made guns, barrels and actions mostly machine made and laser engraved, very little hand fitting needed but what ever is needed seems to be hit and miss….I had four come to me malfunctioning right out of the box, ejectors and triggers, mostly the stuff that required a bit of finesse. One 28 bore with the trigger block safety feature would go off when you closed it !!!
I know I only get shown the ugly stuff but that is too many for my liking….you never saw this on their earlier production stuff( save the S09’s jobbed out to A&S)
BTW some of the screws on the side plated model are timed using lock-tite and they’re in there good and hard!!

And that would explain things if the “sisters” were involved in the process….you don’t want to get me started on that

All best and good luck….

Good duck guns, good sporting clays guns. Very "shootable". Excellent triggers. All I had to do to make mine fit me was lengthen the pull by 1/2", but I have long arms. You often hear them described as being "built like a tank". IMO that is a bit of an over-exaggeration. I shot mine until it is off face on the right barrel. I keep a .003" shim on the hook to correct that, and she shoots on. It has digested many 1 1/4 oz. off the shelf steel duck loads, and has shot a lot of 1 1/8 oz. loads at sporting clays. I won the first big shoot I ever used it in ........ the 2010 U.S. Open at Tunica, S X S event, AA class, shooting it's MOD. and FULL chokes. I later had the FULL barrel opened to .018", same as the right, on the reasoning that if I couldn't switch barrels (it doesn't have a barrel selector) at will I didn't need two different chokes.

May God bless America and those who defend her.
