Learned on the LCS site that Buck died two days ago, from cancer apparently. A good man and friend to all double gun shooters. I will miss him.

Buck could do the Hershey Chocolate brown color on damascus barrels like no other. As I recall early November of each year was his annual Elk hunting date.

Super kind and talented man. Was a privilege to listen and learn from him about these guns we cherish. Helped me a couple times with Lefevers. Definitely a master of gun restoration and a good man!

Sorry to hear that. Buck did a couple of jobs for me including restoring a G-grade Lefever 16 gauge. Verynice guy. RIP.

I'm always proud to show off my Lefever 16 ga E grade that Mr Hamlin restored a decade ago. The chain Damascus barrels are beautiful. I thought his prices were very reasonable. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Man. That sucks. I took time to open up and read his obituary. Pretty short for an 80 yr. lifespan. A lot happens in that dash between the born on date and the departed date. It depresses me to read about someone’s 80 yrs on earth in just a few sentences. Sad.
Like Bushveld said, his barrel browning was about as good as it gets here in the States. I HOPE he passed on his method to someone else!!!! His barrel blacking was also top notch. A friend has a really nice Churchill Premier that Buck reblacked the barrels on. London quality all the way.
He’ll be missed.
