Is Polywad still in business? Their website seems a little outdated.

I think they are defunct. I've heard of no one who has had any positive contact with them in a few years now. Jay Menefee sold the business and after that it seemed to go downhill fast.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

Last order I placed with them was in late 2017 and there were issues then.

Interesting article about Jay Menefee, Georgia peach and pecan farmer and founder of Polywad, in this month’s SSM. The focus is on the restoration of his granddad’s Flues, but interwoven is the story of the shotshell company and his war hero grandfather who was shot in the face in the Argonne Forest in 1919, but survived. Jay sold the shell company in 2017 and there is no mention of its current status or operations.

I hope Jay's grandfather wasn't shot in 1919, because our history books would be in need of a rewrite. WWI ended on November 11, 1918. My mother celebrated her tenth birthday that day and thought all the neighbors were celebrating her.

I had heard many times it was going to be brought back by the new owners. Didn't happen, and I'm guessing with the shortage of powder worldwide at this point it won't ever happen.

I read somewhere that Jay had state of the art Italian loading machines at Polywad. I've seen some Italian "hobby" machines that are amazing in appearance and operation. Gil

The website is still active and has a 2024 Copyright date, so someone is paying to keep the internet site up.

Perhaps any production is for another company and they don't have any excess available for them to sell directly?

I have become addicted to English hammered shotguns to the detriment of my wallet.
