The World Sporting Clays Championships are being held this year at M&M Sporting Clays in NJ (just outside Wilmington DE) in May. The World Championships rotate annually between the UK and USA. The event nearly filled up the day registration started last fall with over 1700 entrants.
Among the many events at the shoot will be a 100 bird SXS event. All 92 squaded SXS event spots almost immediately filled up, though one opened up recently and likely a few others may open as the event draws nearer. (registration is at scorechaser.com)
There is usually a pretty good signup for the SXS sporting clays events at the big major shoots at M&M, but this turnout is really strong. I wonder how many sign ups they would have if they didn't cap the number of shooters at 92?
After all, there were 168 shooters in the SXS event at the National Sporting Clays Championships last fall in San Antonio.
