I went out to the local state game preserve (released pheasants) today for the first time with my 1878 Colt 10 gauge loaded with black powder reloads. Here's the result.

I wonder when the old Colt last dropped a bird.

That is great! Yes, don't you wonder when some of these guns last went hunting? Great to see she went hunting again.

Congratulations Steve! I recall watching you shoot clays with that lovely old Colt at the Aurora club, and you were doing quite well with it.

Best regards, and wishing you many more great days afield! Joe

Rockdoc,
Congrats on the old ten experience. I have two old damascus short tens...a L.C. Smith and a Lefever that I have refurbished and regularly use on Tower Pheasant Shoots....especially on windy days....to blow the smoke away. they are both superb old guns and a delight to shoot. Good hunting.
