Don't know if it's been discussed before, but loctite 360 , or Black Max is the best I've ever used for shims on hinge pins.It seems everything else won't work with stainless steel shim stock. This stuff is an answer to my prayers. Brownells sells it in the sight section, around page 317. I store it in the frig after opening. Paul

Sounds like a solid endorsment....might give it a try on something just for grins.
Gunna have to ask though, how does one get it to release? If it's virtually permenant thats fine, just curious going in.
Thanks, Mark

I give Loctites Black Max my endorsement as well. I didn’t want to drill and tap a Win M63, so I used it to attach the Weaver mounts to the receiver. It has lasted field use this summer shooting grounds squirrels. It also re-attached my wife’s rear mirror assembly off her Wrangler Its held throughout the summer heat so far. Lets see how it does this winter.

It will loosen up with a propane torch-don't get carried away, take your time, and just warm it slowly until it lets go. Best, Ted

Bladesmith --- did you mean Black Max 380 instead of 360? I can't find a listing anywhere for Loctite 360. Please advise us of the correct stuff. Thanks, Chopperlump
