Today I saw a deluxe CZ 20 gauge SxS with sideplates and very, very fancy wood for $1,699 list, discounted to $1,399. Kind of expensive for a HUGLU, but nice enough that I was tempted.

The case colors and fancy wood were really outstanding!

I have a few doubles, one being a Huglu 28. It is a livelely lil gun, and I have shot thousands of rounds thru it. For the money, they are a pretty good buy. Mine has double triggers. I had one with a single trigger, and did have problems with it. The one I currently own is the bottom of the line but pretty case and wood..

I have a number of doubles, but my go to ones in the last 4 years have been CZ Bobwhites one in 20 ga. and the other in 28. DT because all my SxSs have thembesides I prefer them. Anyway my experience has been the same as Last Dollar's. Personally I wouldn't pay $1400 for one, but what the heck if it fits you and you like it go for it. $1400 would buy me 2 more Bobwhites, but I don't really need them. Have to save now for gas and ammo, seems like the firearm is the least of my expenses.

I have had pretty good luck with the Huglu line. The first gun I bough was a 28gs. for $489.00 on a closeout at Gander Mountain. It was one of the early guns and had a single trigger issue. It went back and the problem has been fixed...fanfiring.

I bought a second gun, this time a .410 CZ Ringneck. It has the same configuration as my Armsco with the exception of the case coloring. It's a nice gun with a very good trigger out of the box.

Bottom line, there good value for the money and a fun guns to play around with. They make great rainy day grouse guns, especially the 28ga.. I don't think I would put $1,400 into one. At that price, you might want to consider an L.C. Smith.

Bought a Dehaan SRG13 O/U. The gun has real nice WOOD PORN. Good gun. I plan to do a review and post it to the board as soon as hunting season slows down. It was dedfinately worth the money.

I had a Dehaan SO straight grip double triggers 20 gauge. I bought because I wanted something I could grab and go hunting with. I didnt want to work on it. It was a really nice little shotgun for the money. I traded it off however for an Ithica DS a few years back.

i have several fine sxs's but when I get behind my dog in thick country, i pull out a 28ga ringneck..it shoots where i point it, and is easy to carry. I did not think I would like it, but bought it for 875 new in the box and could not be happier.

I have well over 5000 rounds of SAMMI ammo through my 20 gauge C.Z "Bobwhite" now with zero problems.I dont think you can do much better for the money as a utility gun.

Jerry, I'm familiar with the gun you looked at, at least I'm pretty sure it's the same gun. You're right, that's knockout gorgeous exhibition quality wood by anyone's standards!
