In all of this lamenting the demise of Bismuth, I haven't heard anyone mention the new "NiceShot" from a company called Ecotungsten. Seams like it will fill the bill. Better than Bismuth and they claim better patterns than Tungsten matrix, but shot enough fo any moder shotgun.
I bought some but haven't loaded it yet.
Am I the only one who knows about this?
Anybody try it yet? I am sure it kills well, just worried about the barrels.
Jerry

Someone at SSM board mentioned using it. It is in a current thread about bismuth. The web site says it is a little harder than lead shot. Do you have load data for it?

Oh, I see they state that special load data is not required. I think that means use lead load data, but might ask them specifically before loading any.

I am thinking about loading some i short 10ga for my LC smith Damascus. To keep the pressures low, though I would take some 12 7625 1 1/8 loads, put them in the 10 ga and send them to Precision reloading for pressure testing. I haven't gotten to that yet. In the mean time just loading up some in 12 ga and going to shoot them in gaugemates

I have been loading the Nice Shot for ducks and geese this season and can tell you it works. the ducks are dead on the water and are hit with authority as long as I do my part. I previously have been using Kent Matrix with excellent results as well, but at $3.50 a shot, it hurt to miss!.
the Nice shot is soft and cannot hurt our guns. I shoot an L.C. Smith Grade 2 from 1902 with nitro barrels. Still mirror shiney. If you look to IMR powder loading charts, you can get a 1 1/4oz. load at 1325fps with only 8200psi, from memory.
Nice soft shooting killer load for ducks. Costs about $1.60 per l 1/4oz. so shells are about $2 each.
Collector, shooter of Classic American Doubles. I love the chase of fowl and firearm!

May not be necessary, but because NiceShot it is a little harder than lead, I would stick with lower pressure lead recipes. Wad petals, etc. may easily absorb the extra hardness w/o much effect on pressure. Some tested load recipes would be welcome.

Hopefully Roster will do some testing.
