Cool....thanks for the tip, Mike. Never thought to check them. It's owned by the guy who had the "Gun Runners" stores; might still be called that. The shop it sits in, used to be RAL Sports, or some such...

For you guys who live in the Anchorage area, where do you prefer to shoot clays at? I went into GNG about a week ago, they had some stuff, but it looks like I'll be getting the bulk of my gear from out of state. Not a big deal, as most of the stuff I have now was brought in from other states. Thanks again for the responses, if you ever want to get together to shoot some clays, talk guns, etc, send me a email and we'll get something set up.

By the way, I remember someone saying that there was a very good stockmaker who lived in the Seward area...am I just imagining things, I believed the gentleman was a Dr. of some sort?

Dustin,

The only place in the area that I've shot clays, is at Birchwood Recreation and Shooting Park(BRSP.....aka "Isaac Waltan Range to those of us who've been in the area a while). I've shot trap, skeet, and 5-stand there, but not often(which is why I'm a lousy wing shot! Mainly a rifle guy) Don't know if they have a sporting clays course. If you shoot a lot, I strongly suggest an "EPM membership" there. It allows you to shoot when the range is closed to the general public. It's worth every penny IMO.

If you're into the oddball stuff, the pickins are pretty slim retail wise. The postman, and the UPS driver will become your best friend!

Regards,

Jeff

Thanks for the info Jeff. Looks like me, the ups guy and the post office dude are gonna have to get acquainted. It looks like I'm gonna cut my teeth at the clays range at Ft. Wainwright, looks like they offer skeet, trap and five stand. Thanks again for all the info.
