I've been bitten by the rook bug and just aqquired my first rook rifle, a 300 H&H rook rifle. I have done a little searching but
have found very little info on this cartridge. I have found some
new brass now need to find a source for bullets and reloading info and ballistic information, Seems to have been a popular cartridge in its day and look forward to opinions on the cartridge and info on reloading it.

Hey M-4,
Where are the pictures? This is just a teaser thread without pictures! Sounds like a nice gun. What do you plan to use it for?

Alex, no teaser just awaiting arrival of the rifle as it was recently purchased at auction. Appears to be in very nice condition and described as have an excellent bore, with 3 leaf sights 50, 100, 150. Barrel inscribed with winner of all 1888 rifle trials. As far as use, FUN!!!!!! Have always wanted one of these neat little rifles but hard to find a good one at a decent price. I hope this one fits that catagory but you take your chances when buying at auction but have purchased from this auction company before and their description was accurate and fair
