This walked into my gun club today. They didn't want it so I bought it. I guess this could be the start of a brand new career!!

Actually the case coloring looks better that the pictures and I think the gold plated controls give it a nice sense of something!

Definitely uptown pimp! The guy that pimped it up musta been a classic sxs man. Casecolored frame and gold stuff with the blued barrel/slide is the giveaway. Obviously a guy that valued the originality of the wood as well.

So what you're are saying Chuck is this is the pistol version of a classic double barreled shotgun! I guess I'd better check and make sure the barrel is rifled. If it isn't I'll have to register it as "any other weapon". Think there's any chance this is a Turnbull restoration??

Torch work?
Nope: This pistol was case colored by the traditional method. I can't imagine why anyone would go to the trouble and expense but that's what happpened.

Kinda different! 9mmLargo only for the M400..or 38acp if the breech face will accept it. Keep the 38Super out of it. No need for a pliers on the nose of the slide to assist in takedown as it may appear someone in the past has done. Well made pistols and they shoot and handle very nicely.

I have a half dozen of these and while they aren't my favorites ergonomically thay are well made and excellent shooters. This is a pistol that was designed to be operated under adverse conditions and they do a credible job of doing just that.
There are very few pistols from this period that are as reliable and well built as the Astra Model 21 and they were still carried and used in the WW II period.

Jim, I am somewhat interested in getting a pistol. So what are your "favorites" and why? Thanks, Jake
