Is anyone familiar with a W & C Scott double dubbed the "Texan"? From what I've seen it appears to be similar to something like a Chatsworth model with pistol grip and beavertail--probably an attempt to penetrate the American market with a familar configuration. I'm guessing these were made toward the end of the Scott era--late 70's or 80's? Was Scott quality top shelf at this time? They also used a non-selective single trigger--reliable? Thanks in advance for any knowledge passed on.

The Texan was a Webley 700 derivative made to what the maker believed to be 'American tastes'(like a beaver-tail forend). your guess as to its origins are correct. Most were sold in the 1980s.
