I recently purchased a Husquvarna model 51. If I post the serial number can anyone tell me the age of this as well as any other information about Husquvarna shotguns. Thanks. I am new to this site.

Model 51 was made between 1911-1947. Approx 11.000 12-bores, 3.000 16- bores and 20 20-bores were made.

Also a note. The M51's went through some dimensional changes shortly after WWII. They look exactly the same as pre-WWII guns, but have slightly larger receivers. The barrels will not interchange between the two. There are no markings on the gun to indicate a change, only the serial numbers.

I made a little tool on my web site to check the production date of Husqvarna shotgun. It will quote the date mentioned in the Husqvarna Hagelvapen book, see the list of Cloffe, and it presents an estimate about when the gun was made.

Unfortunately there is no additional information about the model 51 yet.
