Any recommendations for some custom rifle work. New barrel, new bolt handle, scope mounting holes, action trued.
Thanks,
Jim

Better to ask on the AR Gunsmithing forum, many of the country's top custom bolt action guys are there including quite a few ACGG members.
What kind of action? Mauser, M70?

RR,
Thanks for the lead. What is their website. Yes, I am doing both a Mauser and Model 70. I am not equipped with a metal lathe and thus need some of the work outsourced.

Here you go Jim, AR Gunsmithing These guys take custom bolt actions seriously, do some searches to see examples of their work. The top thread is a stickie about a rifle being auctioned for a scholarship fund, take the time to go through and see how the work was done.

In my younger days...On my third try I got a nice 38" Dall in the Wrangell's near the Nabesna Glacier. Saw, but was unable to get to a 42". He went into the park, where no man dare go. Previously hunted the Chugach Range and the Mentasta's.

Were the "younger days" back in '85?
I've always wanted to go sheep hunting but, alas, I may have waited too long. I hear it's a young man's game and I'll be 53 in August. Still in good shape though, maybe before I'm 55.

Rob,
If you will email me at jjwag69@hotmail.com I will gladly provide some details. I have hunted Alaska and a number of African Countries. Best to take it off the Board.

Try David Christman in Delhi, LA. He made the dinner guns for the custom gunmakers guild banquet a couple of years ago. Does super work and has a world class reputation. NOT CHEAP but very good. 318-878-1395 bill
