Yesterday, I watched American Rifleman and they had their segment, "What Is That Gun Worth?" They had the Remington Model 32. One of the guys said (insinuated)he thought it was as good or better than the Browning Superposed. His reason was it was cheaper to buy. Another reason was the space between the barrels made it better for cooling the barrels and the space made it easier to have the barrels thicker. He also made reference to the fact that they were made in the US, so that made them better too. What's your thoughts on the better of the two? Any of you own a Model 32? How do they compare? Thanks.

I have never shot one but I do know that Remington sold the rights to Krieghoff and they made it their model 32!

Oh yes, they did mention the opening system. It is the same as Krieghoff uses as I remember. Thanks for mentioning it, tubes.

'pends on what you want. Both are classic designs that warrant interest in the casual collector/shooter. The 32 can be had only in a few configs, all of which are heavy and not all that fun to carry in the upland field. The Super can be had in many configs and bores, some of which are well suited to upland hunting and others more suited other hunting or to clay games. Apples vs. oranges.

Apple and oranges. A good example of either is worth a few bucks. There are about twenty nine bad examples of each for each collectable example. A dragged out 32 is a grand or less. A dragged out Browning Superposed is eight hundred or less. Small difference, and the good ones are several times that much.

The American Rifleman reviews of both the new Remington Model 32 and the new Browning Superposed were in 1932 issues. We know Capt. Askins voted with his own money for the Superposed!!

And 76 years later, I'm still trying to make up my mind. I own and shoot both.

I more or less agree with the consensus above. I will point out that there were damn few M-32s made and a zillion Superposeds. I think a 32 is generally more interesting because of that. Regards, Jake

I have had both. The 32 was a great gun in its time ,but for
all considered and long term dependability I would select the Browning.

Better for what? Most of the 32s seemed to be target guns. Supers were (are) used for many purposes.

I have always thought I'd like to own a 32, since I had a couple of 3200 target guns and liked them.
