In talking to a fellow Beretta man a question came up that I could use some help with. It has been noted that most engravers signed in the area of the triggers with atleast their last name spelled out. I have seen some with first initials and last names also. The one we were looking at was an SO3EL from 1960 with only the first and last initials engraved. The other one was an SO3 from 1946 with only initials. Does anyone know if there is any significance to the variations in engraved identification? We wondered if before they became master engravers did they use initials or was it the work they designed and someone else engraved? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ron
