It will be turned over to the frame filer in the next month or so. That is step one after blueprinting the barrels and test firing the "package" for the last three or four months. The planning stage for the frame filing was quite time consuming and required lots of Double Gun Journal rereads and lots of Becker research. It was tough.

Sweet...will it be ready in time for Little Creek, or will we have to wait until June?

Not to be rude, but what would be a reasonable ballpark figure on the cost of getting a project like this one done? Assume a complete project including wood, metalwork, engraving, etc. and that the person has no talents to speak of, so needs to outsource all work.

I think it is one of those famous questions "If you have to ask, you can't afford it." Jake

I'll stick my neck out a bit and venture a guess at doing this today with no "inside deals".... How about $3000-4000 for the base gun (Fox 20ga ejector in good shape), $1000-1500 for the metal sculpting/filing/tang work/polishing for engraving, $1000-2000 for a stock blank, $2000-3500 for the stock making/finishing, and maybe (I'm not well versed on engraving) $3000-5000 for that scratching in the picture depending on who does it, tack on another $500-700 in blueing, casehardening, etc., then another few hundred or so in shipping.

Geoff, Toby told me a couple of weeks ago that he'll have it done "in a couple of weeks--atleast". It also has to go back to Mark for a little bit, so I certainly hope it's done before our Little Creek shoot...albeit not totally presentable as I'm planning on having FEI build an O&L case for it.
I'm still mulling over in my mind what to choke the gun. It's current chokes of .011/.018 are too tight for its main intended purpose--skeet. I've got a flat of spreaders loaded up that I'll shoot up first and then make a decision to either leave it alone, have Mark open it up or send it to Briley for a set of thin walls.
