I would like to know where to send a 1892 Parker damascus bbl. to be blued. Most of the Parker pictures appear to show bbl's with a light silver/black hue, I think this color is more accurate than the chocolately finish. G.

I would certainly recommend Dale Edmonds of Kasas City, Missouri. He does great black & white. I have heard he is backed up for quite awhile, but so is anyone who is good.

I trust you intend to refinish, rather than blue, to restore the beautiful Damascus pattern. You can see examples here

and a lists of expert refinishers here

Dale does a wonderful job but is WAY backed up. He's had my bbls for 8 1/2 months. I get to have a nice chat with him every 3 months or so.

I have been told that "SKB" has perfected the "black and white process"!

I finished these on Monday. They are from a Ithaca grade 3 i picked up last year at the Louisville show for 450 or 550. Nice looking gun now. I wasn't going to post a pic, cause i have a new digi camera and havn't had a chance to play with it yet. But i think it turned out okay, barrels look better in hand.

Im still learning about Damascus barrels.

Most of the restored guns I see have the sepia (brownish colored barrels. If that color is "incorrect", why do some restorers produce that coloring?

Were ELSIES and REMINGTONS originally B&W?

How many years usually passed before B&W turned brown?
