Ky I think the problem is Briley doesn't want to change their tooling.

How can GaugeMate make one for a 2 % 1/2 chamber and Briley can't ?

Anyone know if the Rhino Stingers are still being made? Any experience with them?

According to their web site they still are making them. With the exception of screw in chokes this is what I ended up with after cutting down the old set of tubes I bought. Mine are quite handy and make it possible to shoot guns that I would never get to shoot otherwise. Worth a call to see if they can make a set for 2 1/2" chambers.

I do not buy the hype that a 28 or .410 wad seals a 12 bore barrel. In fact I doubt that the 20 does it well. I guess that a 20 wad might flex enough to seal the bore but the first leakage around the edge would allow the gas to bypass the wad and break any seal. It seems like a better concept to make a set of tubes that allows the powder to be burned within the tube rather than trusting a wad to seal a bore it was never designed to seal.

I don't know whether 20, 28 or .410 ammuntion fired through SideKicks (chamber inserts) form a seal or not, but I can tell you from first-hand experience that 20 and 28 ga. performs perfectly fine through them. I used Briley SideKicks in skeet competition when I first got started, and both my 20 and my 28 ga. averages were higher than my 12 ga. They worked fine. The .410, on the other hand, was, well, let's say "not fine".

The consensus seems to be that stepping down one gauge (say 12 to 20) is fine, two gauges (12 to 28 ) yields so-so results, and stepping down three gauges (12 to .410) will give you inconsistent velocities and lousy performance.

I have a set of 12 to 20 ga. Chambermates and use them often in a Fox SxS. These work very well with little loss of velocity and patterns closely matching those of the host gun. I later bought a set of 12 to 28's and quickly sold them. Too many bloopers.

Last summer I also tried a set of mid-length 20 to .410 Chambermates in another SxS. Velocities were all over the chart ranging from 850 to about 1100 fps from my normally hot 1300 fps load.

The good news is that if you're not happy with them, Seminole is very good about refunding your money.
