If nothing else, I am pleased at the rate the serial numbers are progressing. They only seemed to be averaging 20-30 guns per month until recently, looking at the reported numbers. They seem to have jumped by 60 or more in the past month.
I did call last week about my gun (ordered the first week of October) and was told that "the October guns are in the shop now".

Yeti, you may be about right. The color and depth compare very well to my Citori. Possibly a combination, etching the large surfaces and some type of machine work to apply the fine shadeing. HIGH$TRAP

I'm no wood expert, but that wood looks much redder than any other wood I've seen that was Turkish. The few Turkish blanks I've bought and the hundreds I've looked at to buy them were all of either honey or gray color and marbled with black. I've ordered "Exhibition Turkish" also for my RBL. This wood on this gun is really nice but I am hoping for something closer what my limited experience imagines.

Hi chuck, From the RBL FAQ web page.
19. Wood finish: It is an engineered finish that is very durable with a red alkanet root color tone. The wood has an oil satin appearance.
In hand, in doors this wood is a dark chocolate brown color,in the sun where the pics were taken the reds flash and flare.

This looks awfully nice to me too! I love the red colored wood. It brings out the color of the grain really nice. Let us know how it shoots when you take it out. Good luck.
