I am having trouble with the new website. First, I have been unable for the last couple days to post a Private Message. Everything works except the submit button. Second, the site seems to be working slower and slower - which isn't the case with the other websites I frequent and I am on a fiber optic net work with pretty high speed reads.

I am finding that most PM problems are because the user does not have the PM function activated in their preferences.
I just received a PM yesterday with no problem form a user.
It looks like this may have been caused in the move where some did not show up at the new board as active...I don't know why.
As for speed....I have noticed no problems....However, I am only on the BBS at night when traffic is much less.
I will run some tests from work tomorrow.

When I click "My Stuff" nothing happens. So, I can't get to the preferences to change anything.

Ted...nothing happens? Are you logged in? If so you may need a java upgrade? The My Stuff is a drop down menu.
Also, I have noticed the PM dbase is huge...so you guys areen't whacking you old PM's...there is a cap on the number of PM's you can have stored...after that it shuts you off.
I am looging in as you (Ted) now to see what I see....give me a minute or three and I'll post here again with my findings...

OK...I see you have a lot of old PM's dating back to 2002...maybe we should clear some of those out...I'm thinking you may be at the limit.
We neeed to get you to be able to see the PM's you have and you do this through the "My Stuff" drop down menu.
You will only be able to see the menu if you are logged on....are you? Logged on that is?

The board zips right along for me at anytime of day, in fact when I'm having trouble loading a different website I use this BBS as my benchmark. If it loads then the problem is with the other one. No problems with sending any kind of messages. But then, I have cable and use a Mac.  The only thing I can't figure out is how to be emailed when a new post appears in a watched topic. Dave?
My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income.

Oh wow, Dave. I just checked my PMs and they date clear back to 2002 also. This is probably why people have so many of them. They show just about all of the PMs I have ever had. I'll bet when this new board started, everyone's PMs were recorded because I know I deleted most of these PMs years ago. It is nice reading the old ones though. Maybe everyone on the board who has been here a while should check their PMs and delete some of their older ones, too.
