Autoloaders are all drilled about right there. Might be a candidate for welding.

That's what I was thinking as well, though I'm certainly not an expert. The barrels may be salvageable and usable in 12 ga. Of course, if you get the 20 ga tubes, you could still use them, whether the 12 ga barrels can be fired in or not.

Like the 28 Ga? Check it out:

The problem I see is that a fair amount of pressure could go from the barrel to the space between the ribs. I don't think that's a good idea. I suspect I would experience loose ribs and seperation of the barrels after a short while. In addition, there is no good way to clean that area between the ribs. My motto has always been "Better safe than sorry!"

Hello
This is what I have done on many doubles.
I buy a used set of Briley tubes.
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=131239992
Some are cheaper and some more expensive, I consider these expensive.
Many times in the past I have spent less than $150 for a used tube set.

Then I measure the choke of the gun the tubes are intended for and using a lathe, fit the tubes to the barrels. This is not hard to do, if you are patient.

Latest project was fitting a set of 28 gauge tubes to a Baker damascus that has a fracture in the right barrel just ahead of the forend and on the 4 o'clock part of the barrel. The gun now is usable and shoots great at skeet with the screw in chokes of the tube set.

Let us know what you decide to do.

Mike

I would go with the Briley tubes. Although if the original barrrels are choked tight they will have to be opened a bit if you buy the 20ga. tubes. I had to do this to my Parker.
