50 years from now there'll be people collecting MP marked guns and discussing them on forums like this!

Very nice work, Michael, the marks seem appropriate.
Not to hi-jack things, but would you care sharing your finish recipe used on the Wundhammer?
Best,
C.

They already discuss them... http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/2181566/page/0/fpart/1The nice thing is that in the information age we live in, it will be known from the start why the MP in a oval exists, who put it there, and why.
AKA garyg, depending on how confused and which computer Im on.

How much of a restoration would ethically require a "mark"? I have a Parker that is a wonderful restoration, but the only workman who offers a "mark" who worked on the gun is DT, and he did a very small percentage of the restoration. Should he "mark" the gun and take the blame for a bad buttplate installation that his did not do? Just giving my two cents.

Will someone in the future think those lovely restored Springfields are ex-RCMP guns?

This will give you folks a better Idea of what was done to the Wundhammer. Both the Wundhammer and the Adolph were just stocks when I got them. I can tell the next owner what was done and that would be as far as I would have a say in things. With the prices these rifles are bringing these days a buyer needs to know the difference. http://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9411043/m/971104608/p/1

Best,
C. Just a little RLO was rubbed into the wood, the stock was in fine condition just needed cleaning.
