the cocking piece sight is bad enough but I bet the scope on Michael's rifle has left one or two crescent moon shaped scars. Maybe it should be the Whelen or G&H eyebrow instead of Weatherbe.

I am proud of my Weatherby eyebrow! I didn't know it had a name. I have only gotten it three times, all while shooting at game, and I think the groove is now permanent. My DuBiel .375 is a pussycat compared to my .300 DeLuxe, still love it though. Lou M

Well the only hard kicking rifle I have a scope on is my Winchester Model-70 in .400 Whelen and it's a Lyman Alaskan with a lot of eye relief. The pictured rifle with the scope has never caused any problems.
I've shot many 06's with a bolt peep and never had any problem although I don't shoot them prone.

Many many long years ago I was shooting a National Match 1903A1 in a club match at Camp Smith in Peekskill, NY. It had a Marble Goss bolt sleeve sight and an Ace trigger shoe. In the middle of a rapid fire string (noone would so treat an NM Springfield today) the shoe fell off, I yanked the trigger, somehow my position got distorted and the sharp cornered sight banged me in the snoot. It bled pretty good for a few minutes but there is no scar.

Does anyone make or sell trigger shoes? I have not seen one for years. I always liked them.

Somewhere in my travels on the net, at one time or another, I remember seeing G&H #201 in 400 Whelen for sale. I believe it was at some auction house. Do you have any info or pictures of that rifle?
Many thanks
