There is the familiar NPv (Nitro Proof Vienna), followed by GOM. I presume this is a coded date of proof (started from c. 1983). So what is the meaning of GOM?
Thanks.
With kind regards,
Jani

Jani:

Is it on the water table, flats or tubes? If on the tubes I'd guess it was initials? Can you email me an image?

Raimey,

The internet is just amazing as you can throw an electronic baseball from where you are to where I am. I can catch it and have a gander in just minutes.

For now I just don't know. But I don't think it to be a datastring. I think I've seen the "GOM" stamp on a Heinrich Scherping tube. Maybe M4 will chime in from his boat ride.

You very well may be correct and it is a date code. Let me check a few more Glocks and see if I can figure it out.

Found it.

G = July
O = 0
M = 5

Ergo: July 2005 (date of proof)

Ah, you beat me to the punch. I had the July figured out but how does the O equate to a 0(zero)?

Raimey,
I've found the explanation on a Glock forum, dating back to 2005.
With kind regards,
Jani
