A friend of mines dad has a german made cape gun that the rifle side is a long obsolete european caliber. He asked me if I knew anyone that could rebore and sleeve it in say 25-20. I told him I would ask the brain trust here. Now I feel he should not do it, but it's not my gun and it's what he wants to do as he wants to shoot it. Any leads here?

It would be far easier and less expensive to have a set of dies made for it. What caliber was it in originally?

Yes, by all means, please determine the original caliber and cartridge,
Most are EASILY made now and he can shoot it without modification.
Where in the world is Valhalla? I feel sure someone can assist with a chamber cast.
Most likely the caliber is marked on the flats of the barrels

I think you mean line it rather than sleeve it.

Strange that someone using the name "skeettx", certainly a derivative of a shotgunner's term, doesn't know where Valhalla is. Pretty famous in the shotgun world.

I know Vandalia, but Valhalla is the home of the Valiant dead for Vikings
I just wondered if he were close enough for me to go to him and make a chamber cast and form a few cases?

Most common continental calibers are still in use today. 9,3x72; 6,5x58R; 6,5x57R; 6,5x52R are all in use with factory ammunition. Even 5,6x52R Savage and 30/30 Winchester were popular in Europe. My drilling third barrel is 6,5x52R, I use 25-35Win cartridges because they are fully compatible. If casting shows a more rarer caliber I would ream the chamber to one with same bore and of similar pressure.
