Well, sir, let us keep spinning yours in mind for the next time we are in the same place at the same time. It wasn't an actual competition; I just keep track of the envelope for so-called shoulder arms.
Frankly, I'm curious as to just how big an arm has been made and still called a shoulder gun.

Don, thanks for replying about the modern four bore. I'm sorry I missed it.

George....at close range , I think it would be Wood Duck ROASTING, like those old Benny Hill shows, with him firing a flaming arrow & a nice hot meal falls to ground Franc

Franc! Your showing your age with the Benny Hill comment, but so am I since I laughed at it!

I'll speak to owner of said "shoulder cannon", to see if he'll have gun and shells ready for the Fall Shoot this month at Rick Hemmingways. I'll also see if I cannot get over and get a photo. I have a 3.5 lb .410 single I'll take for side by side comparison.

Good to know that the modern conscientious sportsman would prefer the vintage shoulder mounted weapon when hosing a roost. The very thot of some automatic contrivance being used in such a noble endeavor simply chills the blood.
I'm sure any 200bird/shot punt gunner would instantly identify and appreciate the adherence to tradition.
