Mine knows what the guns, ammo and fly rods cost. Ouch!

The SxS and fly rod in the photos are hers and she has more of each along with a handgun or two.

On the other hand my Christmas/birthday present from her this past year was a Gary Lacey bamboo rod & reel. She does know quality.

And the last gun bought in our house she bought for herself.

Can't get her to clean fish or birds but she does a damn fine job cooking them.

It's between two and eight weeks, depending on the state you're talking about, from now until the beginning of upland bird season. It's August, and the heat has gone to our heads. Everyone's antsy. A couple weeks of cooler weather with live birds as legal targets and even Ed and his torch will be back to their normal selves.

The first lady shown with the double gun and dead birdy is not the same Lady as the one in the ill-fitting waders holding up a midget fish- what's the story here- trick photography. First off, they tried to ruin a working man's right to a few brews at Duffy's after a long day's work- when they termed a meddlesome woman a "Battle Axe" that had to be modeled after Carrie Nation-a broad so flat out ugly she could have Eleanor Roosevelt look like a prom queen by comparison- then the damned Suffragettes- now we got them in the Supreme Court, in the Pentagon. trying to be the next POTUS- Palin, Bachmann, even old Hilary-Billary tried to get that gig-Shotguns, rifles, hunting and fishing are perogatives of the male of the species-- not meant for the "fairer sex" ---but "sex sells" so now our magazines have glamour gals on the covers to sell more subscriptions-

Hey Fox, sounds like you had a misfire in the ole bedroom. J/k, probably just the brewski's typing. Chances are Mrs. FC would steer well clear.

Mr.Fox, you stated "The first lady shown with the double gun and dead birdy is not the same Lady as the one in the ill-fitting waders holding up a midget fish- what's the story here- trick photography."

The two pictures are of the same lady. Look at the cheekbones. Look at the smile. I am no fly fisherman, but the fish looks to be either a brook ( avg.10-12 inches ) or a brown (avg. 12-14 inches ) trout.

FlyChamps, nice pictures. I wish my wife enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Yep, she's definitely the same lady. And the fish could have been a rainbow, brookie or brown because that particular delayed harvest stretch of water on the Nantahala River in NC is stocked with all three. It was most likely in the 10" - 12" range although I have taken a few 17" - 20" rainbows out of that area.

By the way, her father was a career Air Force officer but her parents were originally from Texas. I think her father was from Abilene and I know her mother was from Colorado City; we've passed through on trips a couple of times and stopped to look at the poor old town. All of her family is gone from Colorado City now.
