In my late teens my Bro had a 46 coupe street racer, 6 deuces and ultra low rearend gears for 1/8 mile racing.
Your's is a very sweet car, and a post-war rarety. You brought back some V8 Ford memories, thanks.

Personally I was doing the Christmas Bird Count today and logged 136 mallards on DePue's and Nelson's spring creeks. Also gadwall, widgeon, bufflehead, redhead, Barrow's and common goldeneye, among many other birds.
We did hear a few shots on the Yellowstone.

David,

Thanks for sharing with us. I enjoyed it vicariously through you. Hopefully you enjoy many more.

I grew up in Pocatello and hunted there until I moved away after completing high school, (1982). Obviously I'm younger than you, but I have many fond memories of hunting waterfowl off the breaks of American Falls. We used to hunt the potato fields for geese after everything froze. I don't think there is an inch of the Portneuf I didn't walk from Chesterfield to the Snake. Thanks again for the memories.

The last time I fished Nelson's it was during a snowstorm in September, 1986 in Yellowstone. It was the best spring creek fishing I've ever seen. I saw more fish than ducks. wink Gil

that shot of the 46 Ford brings back memories of riding around the neighborhood in a neighbor's 46. Nice spot to hunt too.

Thank you all for the nice comments on my duck hunt and photos.

Cameron: The Sho-Bans Have had the Bufflo herd for over 30 years

Jerry Lape: The dam was built in 1926 and raised 8 Ft. in 1976.

Yup: Lucky Duck is a Mason. I do not tell the story of how Lucky Duck got his title on a public forum. He is a constant companion during duck season.

GJW. yes the late season Duck hunting is still wonderful on the Portnuf river, however I think the fly fishing has improved over the last many years.

Fishfowler: Goose hunting has remained good along the breaks of the American Falls Res. and in the potato fields.

Love it! My kind of hunting. Don't like going to the same wetland with the same equipment and setup every trip.

Dave, I remember in the sixties when a "not bad" '46 coupe was about $150 and a good Browning Superposed was $200. Times change.
