I got a call today that I won a Ithaca 200E 20 ga. at auction Saturday. I wanted it for my 10 yr. old grandson. He shot a .410 on doves last season with great success, but is ready to move up. It looks to be (by the pictures) an unused gun and has the original Raybar front sight. I want to get rid of it as soon as it arrives and replace it with a conventional bead. Anyone know if it screws in, or is pressed in? If I knew in advance, and if threaded, what the thread is, I'd go on and order what I need. I don't want to give Jackson any excuse to look at the muzzle when he shoulders it. Thanks, SRH

Wasn't really looking for one, Bobby, but OWD put up a link to that auction last week and while I was looking at that pretty 32" Parker I saw the 200E and thought it would be a great little gun for Jackson to use on doves and quail.
Hope it's in as good a shape as it looks to be. Know whether or not the Raybar screws in?

There is one on the 280E I bought in '76. Need to do something about it but has been on loan to a good friend in Ringold, Ga for several years. Let me know what you learn, I will order same and ship to him. Great gun but regret not buying BSS for same price .

Will do, Tyler. A nice looking BSS (although with 26" barrels) sold at the same auction for $767. The Parker brought pretty good money though, considering it had an aftermarket pad on it.
Trigger looks like the ones on Valmets.

Stan
Had one of the early, black receiver M200E's as imported by Ithaca in the early 70's and removed the Ray-bar for the same reason. My sight was a standard, right-hand threaded one and of small diameter, possibly 3-56 if memory serves. An overnight soak in Kroil or similar penetrant and easy pressure with a small-jawed crescent wrench should not do any harm, I'd think, as that's how mine came off.

Thanks, Robt.! I'm going to go on and order some beads from Brownell's in a couple different thread sizes. Wouldn't hurt to have a few extra on hand anyway.
All my best, SRH

They unscrew. How much do you want for the Raybar?

Ithace5E, I'm not going to sell it. I'd put it back on the gun if I ever want to sell it. Thanks for the offer, though.
Thanks, Kutter. I'll get a few in 6-48.
