I picked up the gun last night. Took it to the range today and met a friend for proper measuring and some patterning.
Bores are .770, chokes have 6 inches of taper and .016 constriction in right barrel and .018 in left. With 6 inches of taper I suspect the 28" tubes are uncut. Choke constriction suggests it was designed for or relieved for use with steel shot.
Gun shoots to point of aim in both barrels. With 2 7/8" 1 1/8 ounce of lead 6 it shot about 50% in both barrels at 40 yards.
I need to get the stock cut from 15" to something more manageable. Thinking about 13 3/4" with original thin pad refitted and second longer pad fitted for it to bring it back to 14" when desired. I think the short LOP would be ideal for shooting from a layout boat with heavy clothing.
I plan to shoot it this fall a little bit and most likely send it out to Mike Orlen to have choke tubes put in it.
