Oooooh.... I feel so much better now.
I thought it was all about the election... but it was really those manic Holidays!
Let's all join hands and sing Kumbaya...
And wait for Obama to take our double guns away. He can have mine, if he is willing to die for them of course- same for the Eric "Si Si Senor" Holder legion of jackbooted numbnutz. Good ol Chuck Heston was a most "handy" and learned gent indeed. When he played the part of Moses in C.B. DeMillie's epic "The 10 Commandments" he said "Behold His mighty hand" and later used that same rolling thunder phrasing when he held a rifle aloft at the NRA convention and said "From my cold, dead hands"_

[quote=Pre-13 LC Coll]No Ed [/quote I'll second that-- Ed "The Torch" has *&^%ed-up more shotguns than Lindsay Lohan has done drugs.

"But I wanted to illuminate the sheer hypocrisy and disingenuous behavior that masquerades as civility here."
I certainly have no desire to be categorized in that manner. I have no problem saying that the inhabitants of this bbs are almost uniformity preening poseurs "collecting" insignificant and abused examples of firearms that few if any would otherwise GAF about, and massively dedicated to the "sow's ear" concept of acquisition enhancement. Whenever I need a laff this is the place I come to. Top of that list are those who post questions and ignore any answer that does not agree w/ whatever erroneous preconception they have already decided to be the case. Sort of the Darwin Awards section of the gun world.
keep up the good work
have a day
Dr.WtS We can't all have as fine and splendid of a collection as you, or you wouldn't be able to think so highly of yourself . I enjoy shooting and hunting with old guns and not collecting, however many on here enjoy the opposite. If I only wanted to see museum pieces I would go visit one or buy a book on the subject (that would have to be a picture book on the subject since I am not as well learned as you). A lot of this forums foundation rests on restoration which to me is invaluable. All guns become a sows ear in the end. If we all take the arrogant standpoint that only pristine guns are worthy of our attention, the fine old craftsmanship and skills to create such pieces will eventually all fade away. We must be willing to maintain, restore and learn to use the old methods to create. Someone has to be interested in repairing and restoring without the idea of getting rich every time you do a repair or restoration. I have repaired a few which I have far more invested in than they are worth. However, they hold to me is far greater than money due to the enjoyment I get out of using them, and the pride of knowing I brought it back to life.

Bravo, Mr. Burns. My take on the Darwin Awards at this site, is, a few people (use your imagination) have a lot more money invested per round fired than some others. After a plate of wild pheasant or grouse, I'm not troubled at all by my less than significant investment in same. I doubt you are, either.
Best, Ted

I think whining-about-whining threads belong in MisFires.
I am glad to be here.
